Basic computer shortcut you should know

Windows logo key  to   Open or close the Start menu.
Windows logo key +Pause   to     Display the System Properties dialog box.
Windows logo key +D  to Display the desktop.
Windows logo key +M  to Minimize all windows.
Windows logo key +Shift+M   to    Restore minimized windows to the desktop.
Windows logo key +E  to    Open Computer.
Windows logo key +F  to    Search for a file or folder.
Ctrl+Windows logo key +F  to    Search for computers (if you're on a network).
Windows logo key +L to    Lock your computer or switch users.
Windows logo key +R    to   Open the Run dialog box.

How To create a Folder on the Desktop



Follow these steps to create a folder on the Desktop of your computer.
1. Right click on the free space of your Desktop.
2. Rest the pointer on the option New in the pop-up context menu. Notice a second menu that is displayed.

3. In this second menu click on the option Folder. Notice that a folder icon (with the highlighted text New Folder in a box) is displayed on the Desktop.

4. Click inside the box containing the highlighted text New Folder, delete the text New Folder and type the name that you want to give your newly created folder.
5. Click anywhere on the free space or press the Enter key.

To create a Shortcut on the Desktop


1. Right-click the item that you want to create a shortcut for. Notice the menu that pops up.
2. In the menu point to the option Send To. Notice that another menu is displayed.
3. In this menu click Desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut icon appears on your desktop.

Procedure as follows

How to format a flash drive using cmd

The procedure is as follows:
  • Connect the USB flash drive to your PC.
  • Click on Start > Run > Type cmd and click on OK.
    • Assuming the letter assigned to the USB flash drive is G, type the following command:
  • format /q /x G: and press Enter.
  • The q parameter stands for quick format
  • The x parameter forces the selected volume to dismount, if needed.
  • NB: Don't forget to replace the letter "G" with your drive letter.
